The CC2420ZDK is designed to deliver the most powerful elements for ZigBeeTM development in the market today. The kit is based on the CC2420 transceiver, which has the market's lowest current consumption and excellent radio characteristics. This enables long battery lift with very good range and robust performance against interferers.
The hardware included in the CC2420ZDK contains necessary support to evaluate, demonstrate, prototype and develop software targeting various ZigBeeTM applications. The CC2400EB combined with the CC2420EM provides the user with the functionality necessary to use the Chipcon packet sniffer to monitor the information sent over the air. The CC2420DB includes functionality such as joystick, buttons, RS-232 port potentiometer, LEDs etc. IAR Embedded Workbench for AVR is used as compiler/debugger for CC2420DB. Please note that a 30 day evaluation license is included in the CC2420ZDK, and that a permanent license should be ordered directly from IAR www.iar.com. The CC2420ZDK is a very flexible kit that can be used to develop everything from simple light switches to advanced nodes with lots of peripherals.
